Focus: Zone Defense.
We reviewed our zone defenses: four-man cup and 1-3-3, in preparation for Sectionals.
Four-man Cup: The goal of our four-man cup defense is to make the other team throw a lot of swing passes. We want to contain up-field throws with the cup and be fast enough to set the zone as the disc swings to the sides. In this zone, we will usually force middle.
1-3-3: The goal of our 1-3-3 is to herd down field players to the space between the front wall and the back wall and thus, eliminate up-field looks. In this zone, we will usually force forehand or wind. It is the job of the 1 (the marker) to push the disc to one side of the field and then set the trap.
Drill: 10 pull, 6 vs 6 due to low numbers.
